Reviews
Food:
For the breakfast sandwich, the vegan seaweed bacon is by far my favorite interpretation of "bacon". This is also the only place I can think of that currently has a good consistent tofu scramble.
The donuts are also amazing. The flavors change every day, which makes it a joy coming every weekend. My favorite so far is probably blueberry matcha ❤️.
Service:
This is a small neighborhood coffee shop. The people who work at Kaibur know me by name and I know them (mostly) by name as well. Super friendly, cool people.
Atmosphere:
If you like Modest mouse, punk, and cool grungy art you'll probably be happy in this coffee shop. Definitely my kind of place 🙂.
Best vegan breakfast spot in the city. Vegan breakfast sandwich has a great hearty tofu scramble on thick cibatta. The vegan coffee selections were widespread and well made. The vegan donuts were the best I've had super fluffy. The atmosphere was small and intimate with great rustic decor. Absolutely coming back
I came here for the dog friendly outdoor seating. It’s set under an awning that offers reasonable protection from rain (not 100%, but better than an umbrella set into a picnic table). The food was fantastic too. It was much nicer than I thought I might get, since I was just looking for a quick bite at a cafe rather than a sit down meal at a full restaurant. I was really impressed.
shop is very pricey the food do not look like the pictures. I would avoid coming to this overpriced coffee shop it’s not worth it. Rude rude Adam can be a sweetheart his wife she try way to hard when all she needs to be is her self I gave one star do better I live 5 minutes from Kaibur & they Are trash donuts taste horrible not like the previous owners
Kaibur is one of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh. The coffee is solid, and the food is tasty. I like to get the vegan egg with a classic drip coffee. You get good service with an angsty diner aesthetic. The vegan donuts are insanely good, not to mention the restaurant's namesake reference is top-notch. 😋
This is a small neighborhood Cafe with the best vegan options ever. I had the raspberry- chocolate donut and it was amazing. I tasted the cheesecake and sugar donuts and they were good and so moist as well. I had the vegan Tofu scramble sandwich with the bacon and cheese and the macha ice drink. All vegan. I don't have any complaints. I wish I could have taken more food with me. They also make their own almond and Oat milk. Definitely recommend this place. Sorry no pics. My phone has no memory.
Eclectic atmosphere and the owner is a gem!
Great vegan and gluten-free options. I had the vegan Breakfast Sandwich, my partner had the vegan BLT on GF bread, and both were delicious. We stopped back in for coffee (Pistachio Cold Brew and a Cappuccino) both did not disappoint!
Will definitely be back when in Pittsburgh!
The staff were very nice. Great conversation with the owner while enjoying a homemade vegan blueberry muffin and avocado toast. I don’t recommend places easily, but would definitely suggest this cafe in a quiet neighborhood in Pittsburgh.
